The title Tropszyn is talked about for the primary time in a doc from 1390, referring to its proprietor Chebda from Tropsztyn. Nevertheless, archaeological analysis has confirmed that the citadel was constructed on the flip of the thirteenth and 14th centuries. One could assume that its founder was Gniewomir or his father Zbroslaw, the inheritor of Tropie village. The citadel belonged to Chebda till 1535. Then Prokop Chebda bought the already abandoned fortress to the Sandomierz castellar Piotr Kmita. Shortly thereafter, Robkowscy dominated the citadel, then the Gabanski household, who in all probability rebuilt the fortress. In the beginning of the seventeenth century Tropsztyn was fully ruined.
